About

Learn more about Renew NI, our vision and our team.

Founded in 2026, Renew NI is a new platform for serious ideas about Northern Ireland’s future.

Northern Ireland has no shortage of commentary, criticism or day-to-day political noise. What it often lacks is a space focused on practical policy thinking: clear arguments, useful explainers, longer publications and constructive proposals for how public life here can work better.

Renew NI was created to make policy more accessible, encourage informed debate and promote practical ideas to improve Northern Ireland. Through articles, explainers, opinion pieces and publications, we explore the challenges facing our economy, public services and institutions, offering fresh perspectives on key policy issues.

Renew NI has been established because we believe there is a stronger case to be made for Northern Ireland. Our aim is not to defend the status quo, but to contribute practical solutions to the challenges we face.

– Ryan Hoey, Director

Renew NI is independent, ideas-led and open to contributors who want to make practical, evidence-informed and constructive arguments about what Northern Ireland needs next.
